Wine Advocate
Possibly the finest wine this estate has yet produced, the 2005 Grands-Marechaux exhibits a dense ruby/plum color as well as a sensational perfume of black cherry liqueur, high class cigar tobacco, and a subtle touch of wood. Medium to full-bodied, velvety-textured, sumptuous, and long, this sleeper of the vintage should drink well for 3-4 years. Moreover, there are 7,000+ cases, so availability should be good.
Score: 90. —Robert Parker, April 2008.Wine Spectator
There's lots of new wood, with ripe fruit and light raisin aromas. Medium- to full-bodied, with soft tannins and a medium finish. Already very attractive. Best after 2011.
