Appearance: Dark garnet in color. Aroma: Deep, dense and concentrated, this Cabernet even smells dark. Expressive aromas of fresh blackberry, currants and rich vanilla mingle with subtle notes of thyme and cinnamon. Tasting Notes: Tannins are chewy and mouth-coating, merging with engaging flavors of blackberry, black plum and cassis and just a hint of black olive. All this power is knit together into a harmonious whole to create a well-structured wine that makes a bold statement and culminates in a very long, satisfying finish.
Wine Advocate
Slightly superior to the 2005, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa possesses a dark ruby/purple color as well as a creme de cassis, spice box, and floral-scented bouquet, and a medium to full-bodied finish. A strong effort, it should drink nicely for 12-15 years.
Score: 90. —Robert Parker, December 2008.Wine Spectator
Supple, elegant and well-balanced, mixing ripe currant, herb, anise and mineral notes. Ends with fine-grained tannins and a touch of green tea. Drink now through 2013. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
