In the hills to the east of the small town of Cloverdale, Brothers Ridge spans 141 acres, nearly all planted to cabernet sauvignon, with smaller amounts of merlot and cabernet franc. It’s on well-drained loam underlain by sandstone, shale, and ancient greenstone. Its elevations, approaching 1,000 feet, and its primarily western aspect perfectly situate the vines to capture the full warmth and light of the afternoon sun, ripening cabernet well into the chocolate and black fruit profi le, with exceptional richness.
The 2006 vintage began with a rather late bud break during an unseasonably cool and wet spring. March rains slowed shoot growth down considerably, and set the timer for a late harvest. After a fi ne May and June, much of July was a scorcher, including a 10 day stretch where every day saw temperatures over 90 degrees, and several days topped out at 110! Fortunately, the delayed development of the grapes kept sun scorch to a minimum. Extended ripening that lasted until the very end of October was accompanied by mild weather and promoted excellent flavor development, with the last of the grapes harvested on October 25th.
Wine Spectator
Firm, intense and concentrated, rich and layered, this full-blown red shows dense, chewy currant, anise, mineral, sage and cedary tobacco flavors that gain weight, depth and dimension. Best from 2011 through 2015. 1,504 cases made.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

Parker, Jr. Initially titled The Baltimore-Washington Wine Advocate the first issue was published in 1978. Accepting no advertising, the newsletter publishes in excess of 7,500 reviews per year, utilizing Parker's rating system that employs a 50-100 point quality scale.
