"This Chilean estate located in the southern region of Patagonia, was started in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta. His family owns Tenuta San Guido makers of Sassicaia. This is a big style of Pinot, with ripe red currant fruit, earth and mineral flavors, and a soft grip from ripe, open, tannins. It is an interesting and delicious wine, although not typical."
Mark Ricca - Wine Manager

Wine Spectator

Balances ripe red and black cherry fruit against bright acidity and firm minerality. Light, silky tannins frame the juicy finish, which lingers with hints of licorice and wild herbs. Drink now through 2013. 4,657 cases made.

Score: 89. —Nathan Wesley, April 30, 2011.

Wine Enthusiast

Barda is Bodega Chacra's larger-production (almost 5,000 cases) PN, and while not as concentrated as 55 or 32, it's smooth, with mild spearmint and dusty berry fruit aromas. The palate is stylish and shows roast plum and spice flavors along with caramel and cola notes. Composed and satisfying.

Score: 89. —Michael Schachner, November 01, 2010.
