Yalumba
A deep crimson with violet hues, the Yalumba Y Series Shiraz Viognier 2009 has an exotic nose with crushed raspberries, violets and Turkish delight, complemented by cinnamon, tea smoke and nuances of allspice. Succulent and layered, the palate has flavours of raspberries and violets. Cocoa powder tannins balance the juiciness of the palate and enhance the lingering finish.
Wine Spectator
A lovely lilting mouthful of blackberry and floral flavors persist easily into the long, refined finish. A smooth and vibrant wine. Drink now through 2015. 12,500 cases imported.

Wine Advocate
The 2009 The Y Series Shiraz Viognier contains 6% Viognier, giving a medium-deep garnet-purple color and intense aromas of red cherry, black raspberry, spice box and hints of earth and pepper plus a slight floral lift from the Viognier. Medium-high acid and a medium level of chewy tannins are in harmony, with good concentration of berry flavors on this medium bodied wine, and it finishes medium-long. Drink it now to 2014.

Certified organic vineyards must meet Demeter"s additional criteria for a period of one year before earning the designation "biodynamic."
Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
