Bright golden in color with a flinty minerality and an animating very well integrated tartness. The opulent ripe yellow fruit with pineapple and mango as well as a hint of elderberries and a pinch of salt in the aftertaste make this wine memorable. Very well balanced with lots of facettes. Matches delicate dishes perfectly. Great with salads, poultry but also with Curries or a Risotto.
Wine Spectator
Delicate, with apple tart, melon and chamomile flavors that are fresh and juicy, showing lots of slate notes and hints of sage honey on the zesty finish. The pure-tasting finish is long and ethereal. Drink now through 2024. 950 cases made.

Wine Advocate
Village-typical lime and dark cherry scent and juicily inform the silken palate of Thanisch's 2010 Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Kabinett, hints of fresh ginger, lemon zest, salt, and crushed stone adding interest to its satisfyingly refreshing finish. Even at 9% alcohol - higher than usual for this genre chez Thanisch - there is no deficiency of levity in the present instance, and amazingly high 11.5 grams acidity manages to be almost perfectly balanced by the wine's high residual sugar, i.e. without engendering any significant sense of bifurcation. "To be sure," comments Thanisch, "these (2010s) aren't genuine Kabinetts, and one could as easily have written 'Spatlese' on their labels." I would anticipate 7-10 years of pleasure.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
