Martin Cendoya

Nose: Intense, resistant. Palate: Excellently linked fruit and oak create a harmony of full, fleshy, intense, persistent flavours that could well be called exciting.

Wine Advocate

The purple-colored 2007 Martin Cendoya Reserva is composed of 80% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano, and 5% Mazuelo aged in French oak for 14 months and in bottle for 24 months prior to release. Aromas of brooding black fruits, tobacco, mineral, and Asian spices are followed by a wine with considerable elegance, a silky texture and several years of aging potential. It offers a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2022.

Score: 91. —Jay Miller, June 2011.

Wine Spectator

Fresh black cherry and blackberry flavors show lively accents of mineral and smoke in this modern red. The grippy tannins are well-integrated, and there's enough acidity for balance. Drink now through 2014. 500 cases made.

Score: 89. —Thomas Matthews, December 31, 2011.
