Domaine Humbert Frères
The domaine style is ideally suited to this fruit, translating this mineral essence into wine of precision and intellectual subtlety, with brambly flavors of Bing cherries, wet stones and subtle woods (sandalwood? balsam?). The theme is expressed with slight variations in the other crus, i.e. heft and muscle as one goes downslope in Petite Chapelle and Charmes, brighter spiced red berry fruit in the higher sites of Estournelles St. Jacques. Overall, the domaine's style is one focused, precise and pure, with little fat and the restrained use of new oak. Great "terroir-transparency" reveals a clear, beautiful expression of the vineyard sites. These wines are an experience in precision, with slight nuances finding profound and varied expressions.
Food Match: White meats, veal, pork, pheasant, game, fowl, duck, chicken.
Burghound
This is clearly the ripest wine among these '06s with an exceptionally pretty nose of fresh red pinot fruit nuanced by notes of dried flowers, game, warm earth and underbrush that is also picked up on the supple, sweet and detailed flavors that possess a really lovely mouth feel on the muscled and beautifully long finish. This is not robust but it knocks on the door while keeping all the individual structural components in perfect balance. Recommended though note that patience will be required. Drink: 2016+

Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

Accepting no advertising, the newsletter publishes in excess of 7,500 reviews per year, utilizing Parker's rating system that employs a 50-100 point quality scale.

Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine and wine culture. It publishes 15 issues per year with content that includes news, articles, profiles, and general entertainment pieces. Each issue also includes from 400 to more than 1,000 wine reviews, which consist of wine ratings and tasting notes.
