The "Bric Balin" is the jewel of the estate. Matured entirely in part-new barrique, it is an elegant, velvety wine with dense red fruits, cocoa and spice.

Wine Advocate
The 2007 Barbaresco Bric Balin is simply gorgeous. This is a decidedly fat, generous Bric Balin endowed with layers of red fruit, cinnamon, cloves and crushed flowers. The oak is very nicely balanced. In 2007 the Bric Balin possesses an unusual amount of depth and textural richness. The tannins are also a bit backward, suggesting the wine needs another 2-3 years to fully open up. This is an impressive effort from Moccagatta. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027.

This gorgeous Barbaresco from the celebrated Bric Balin cru opens with natural heft and opulent layers of cherry, vanilla, wild berry, spice, old leather, chocolate and smoke. The wine's consistency is on the dark, heavy side and the feeling it imparts on the palate is one of richness and smoothness. A Marc de Grazia selection; various American importers.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying.
