A to Z Wineworks
Elegant and complex aromas of bing cherries, cranberries, red currants, raspberries and strawberries, a combination of wild flowers and fresh forest berries that epitomize Oregon Pinot Noir. The juicy red fruit flavors open the attack then evolve in the mouth to darker fruit flavors with spice and mineral overtones. The wine shows ripe tannins and a succulent texture that give definition and lift to the surprisingly long finish. Although the 2010 A to Z Pinot Noir is drinking well now, it has the focus, balance and intensity to age and will become more complex over the next 5-10 years.

Wine Advocate
Containing a major share of Willamette Valley fruit (including lots not chosen for Rex Hill's Willamette cuvee) but also juice from the Columbia Gorge and selected high-altitude sites in southern Oregon, the A to Z 2010 Pinot Noir offers ripe but tart-edged red currant tinged with black tea and subtly-integrated fruit pit bitterness as well as spice and smoke imparted by used barriques. A snappy, mouthwateringly saline and persistently juicy finish invigorated and promises to adeptly adapt to a wide range of cuisine. I would plan to enjoy this display of some distinctly Pinot virtues over the next year or two.

Biodynamic designation is regulated by Demeter, an international certification organization. Biodynamic agriculture is based on the view of a farm as a self-contained organism. Certified organic vineyards must meet Demeter"s additional criteria for a period of one year before earning the designation "biodynamic."
Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
