Bodegas Emilio Moro

A deep, cherry red colour. Intense aromas of mature, ripe black fruits, integrated with well-balanced toasty touches. Powerful on the palette, it is full, meaty and rich with thick black-fruit tannins Vanilla, balsamic and spicy touches from fine quality oak. The finish is long and full.

International Wine Cellar

Full ruby. Pungent aromas of red and dark berry preserves, Asian spices and vanilla, with slow-building smokiness. Creamy black raspberry and floral pastille flavors are complemented by a deeper note of licorice and lifted by tangy acidity. The finish echoes the sweet dark berry and floral notes and lingers with excellent tenacity. This lively wine is delicious right now.

Score: 91. —Josh Raynolds, October 01, 2011.

Wine Advocate

The 2008 Emilio Moro comes from vineyards ranging in age from 15 to 25 years and was aged for 12 months in seasoned French and American oak. It sports a pleasing perfume of balsam wood, clove, cinnamon, tapenade, mineral, and blackberry leading to a wine of considerable elegance with 2-3 years of aging potential. This savory, spicy effort will deliver optimum drinking from 2013 to 2020.

Score: 90. —Jay Miller, June 2011.
