Our 2009 Beaulieu Vineyard Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon captures the terroir flavors and quality of the Rutherford Bench-a magical place in the heart of Napa Valley where Cabernet Sauvignon develops sumptuous flavors and impeccable balance. This wine fills the senses with aromas and flavors of briary blackberry, wild black cherry and juicy, sun- ripened plum. Nuances of violet, chocolate truffle, tobacco leaf and toasted oak add complexity, while fine cocoa-powder tannins give the wine its structure and velvety texture.

Lush and ripe in fruit, this Cab is a real bargain. It's rich in black cherry jam, plum, dark chocolate, sweet dried herb and sandalwood flavors, wrapped into firm tannins. This is one of the best Rutherford Cabernets at this price range currently available.

Wine Advocate
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford is a mouthful. This big, brawny Cabernet Sauvignon is loaded with dark red fruit, smoke, tar and licorice. It shows gorgeous balance and fabulous length in an up-front style that is sure to find many admirers for many reasons, not the least of which is its soothing price tag. Despite its overt fruit, the 2009 seems to have more than enough structure to drink well for another 5-7 years, maybe more. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017.
One of the most important wines of my formative years was a sublime bottle of the 1976 Georges de Latour. Today Michel Rolland consults on that wine, but frankly this is a very strong set of wines across the board, with a number of bottles that offer excellent value.

Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine and wine culture. It publishes 15 issues per year with content that includes news, articles, profiles, and general entertainment pieces. Each issue also includes from 400 to more than 1,000 wine reviews, which consist of wine ratings and tasting notes.
