Domaine Armand Rousseau

2007 vintage is a year of connoisseurs, with more structure and energy, it outstrips the 2006 in quality and aging potential. A beautiful maturity of fruit, spices notes and the density of the vintage make of 2007 a year of immediate pleasure or keeping.

Burghound

A notably riper nose features more classic aromas of red and blue pinot fruit, violets, underbrush and this too offers a hint of jerky that complements the lightly spiced, rich, full and delicious medium weight plus flavors that possess an appealing textured quality to the energetic, sappy and mouth coating finish that is both balanced and impressively long. Excellent quality here and while not ultra powerful, this is certainly a step up in muscle compared to the Charmes and Mazis. Score range:90-93 Drink: 2015+

Score: 93. —Allen Meadows, January 01, 2009.

Wine Spectator

Pretty cherry and strawberry aromas and flavors are accented by spice from the oak in this silky red, which has plenty of tannins for support, with bright acidity that keeps it all lively and persistent through the finish. Best from 2013 through 2023.

Score: 92. —Bruce Sanderson, May 31, 2010.
