They are wines that always need 5 to 10 years of ageing before expressing their typically floral character: The bouquet of the 1er crus of Premeaux is remarkable and persistent: one finds the aroma of iris mingled with raspberries. Even more so, that of white lilac.
Burghound
I clearly misjudged this because while this is slightly riper than its 2010 counterpart with its mildly exotic yellow fruit aromas of honey, straw, peach and mango, there is genuinely excellent depth to the textured and opulent middle weight flavors that really coat the palate with dry extract. But it's the impressive length that really sets this apart from the 2010 because while this is a powerful vintage for the Clos de la Maréchale, it is the moderately firm acid spine that shapes the finish and imparts a real sense of focus. Wine Advocate
The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Clos de la Marechale is a seriously dark, rich and concentrated wine that stands apart from most of the production here. The intense core of fruit powers through to the intense, imposing finish where sweet spices and licorice add the final layers of complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029.

Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
