Domaine Jacques Prieur
Deep ruby-red with attractive purplish highlights. Very forthcoming and straightforward bouquet with hints of ripe black fruit (blackcurrant and blueberry) as well as delicately spicy and toasty aromas. Elegant structure and quite delicious Pure, well-focused fruit Concentrated, silky tannin. Classy aftertaste.
Wine Advocate
From the micro-climatically distinct and highly-favored Champs Treversins section of that sprawling cru (with the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti as neighbors), the Prieur 2006 Echezeaux offers one of those examples where this vintage will give 2005 more than a run for its money's worth. Deep, sweetly-ripe cherry and roasted meat are accented with musk oil, iodine, and cherry pit. This is almost implosively intense - threatening a sense of severity - yet it's fine-grained, and carries a sense of energy and lift into its long, savory, mineral-inflected, dynamically complex finish. The overall tone is dark, but an abundance of primary fruit juiciness is proof against austerity.

Burghound
A spicy, pure and expressive nose of primarily blue berry and red currant nuanced by hints of clove and anise that can also be found on the round and velvety full-bodied flavors that display good muscle and power on the long finish that is underpinned by dense but fine tannins and really lovely depth. This too delivers excellent quality. Score: 91-93 Drink: 2014+

Biodynamic
Biodynamic designation is regulated by Demeter, an international certification organization. Biodynamic agriculture is based on the view of a farm as a self-contained organism. Certified organic vineyards must meet Demeter"s additional criteria for a period of one year before earning the designation "biodynamic."
Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

Accepting no advertising, the newsletter publishes in excess of 7,500 reviews per year, utilizing Parker's rating system that employs a 50-100 point quality scale.

Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine and wine culture. It publishes 15 issues per year with content that includes news, articles, profiles, and general entertainment pieces. I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying.
