Lucien Le Moine

This esteemed vineyard bordering Musigny and Clos de Vougeot regularly produces one of Lucien Le Moine's most celebrated wines. Mounir says that the vineyard parcel from which his wine comes from has roots that go deep into the rocks, and the wine can be described as one with a lot of minerality, but with very little tannin or acidity, and notably a character of a very limited attack that draws out to an incredibly persistent finish. This character is what you leaves you breathless after you drink it, as you ask yourself - where did this wine all of a sudden come from?

Burghound

A highly complex, fresh, layered and airy nose offers up an interesting array of spice, wet stone, raspberry and cranberry aromas that precede elegant, pure and equally stony flavors that possess some of the finest detail in the entire range while culminating in a focused, linear and mouth coating finish. Stunning. Score Range 91-94. Drink: 2015+. Comments: Don't miss! Outstanding

Score: 94. —Allen Meadows, April 01, 2009.

Wine Advocate

Intriguingly musky, animal scents rise from the three barrels' worth of Le Moine 2007 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses, joined by mouth-watering red currant and pomegranate that lead to a sappy, bright palate and long, savory, buoyant finish tinged with ginger, chalk, musk, and liquid floral perfume. The class and complexity of this cru vis-a-vis the others of Chambolle rated as "premier" is clearly evident, and the word "clear" should be emphasized as part of this wines character as well, since its complexities are vividly evident as if perceived through a deep torrent of fruit. It will reward 10-12 years in a cellar, though one ought not to ignore its beauty near-term either.

Score: 93-94. —David Schildknecht, June 2010.

Wine Spectator

Bilberry and black currant aromas and flavors highlight this juicy red, which has purity, a silky texture and a discreet structure, lending an overall impression of finesse and complexity. The aftertaste goes on and on. Best from 2013 through 2024. 28 cases imported.

Score: 92. —Bruce Sanderson, May 31, 2010.
