Michele Chiarlo
Michele Chiarlo Barbaresco is produced from grapes harvested, on average, ten to fifteen days later than normal, which yield extremely rich musts high in sugar and low in acidity. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out under strictly controlled temperatures and followed by malolactic fermentation in the spring. The wines are thereafter aged partly in French Allier and partly in Slavonian oak for the period corresponding to their intended ranking. Very similar in character to Barolo, but more delicate and accessible in its youth, Michele Chiarlo's Barbaresco is a powerful, robust wine of great longevity. Deep garnet-red in color with orange highlights, it shows an intense bouquet reminiscent of violets; on the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with layers of rich fruit nuances and a long finish.
Wine Enthusiast
Here’s a wine that holds its own in a ranking of top Nebbiolos. There’s depth and great promise of fruit here, which is wrapped within folds of vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and dusty mineral. The mouthfeel is plush and velvety and the wine ends with tart but succulent tannins. It will drink beautifully for five-plus years.

Wine Advocate
The 2006 Barbaresco Reyna is quite pretty and delicate in its perfumed red fruit, flowers and spices. The tannins are firm yet well-balanced, and the wine shows many of the qualities that make Barbaresco such an appealing expression of Nebbiolo. The accessible, mid-weight 2006 Barbaresco Reyna is an excellent choice for near-term drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2016.

Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine and wine culture. It publishes 15 issues per year with content that includes news, articles, profiles, and general entertainment pieces. Each issue also includes from 400 to more than 1,000 wine reviews, which consist of wine ratings and tasting notes.
