Color: Deep ruby, limpid and bright.
Bouquet: Intense, complex and aromatic with a blend of red berries and animal notes.
Palate: Powerful and fine; noble tannins; full, well-balanced finish.
Matching Food and Wine: Pressed guinea fowl with young vegetables. Noisette of lamb with rosemary. Saddle of devilled lamb with young vegetables.
International Wine Cellar
Inky purple. Ripe dark berries and violet on the smoky, highly perfumed nose and palate. Sweet and seamless, showing slow-building spiciness and a touch of candied licorice. Finishes with very good intensity and cling, leaving smoke and cracked pepper notes behind. Score Range: 91-93 points

Wine Advocate
The 2010 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert, which I raved about last year, is slightly better than their brilliant 2009. It boasts a dense purple color along with a beautiful perfume of camphor, licorice, forest floor, black currants and Christmas fruitcake. With tremendous intensity, full body and supple tannins, it should drink well for 10-15 years, perhaps longer where well-stored. This cuvee is always one of the best buys in the Northern Rhone.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying.
