 The beautiful 17th-Century Chateau l'Argenteyre is owned by the fourth generation of the the Reich family. This wine wins medals in almost every vintage. The vineyard of Chateau L’Argenteyre is comprised of 27 hectares (65.07 acres) on gravel, limestone clay and sandy soils. The estate is located on excellent terroir in the north of the Medoc, in the commune of Begadan, the cradle of famous Cru Bourgeois and Cru Bourgeois Superieur (such as La Tour de by, Patache d’Aux, Vieux Robin, etc). When the family started offering Chateau L’Argenteyre 15 years ago, the wines were deep, quite tannic and extremely powerful with huge aging potential. As the years have passed by, the challenge now is to offer rounder and softer wines, with velvety tannins, which keep potential for aging and North-Medoc character while allowing for the wines to be opened and enjoyed from the start. The wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon 45%, Merlot 40%, and Petit Verdot 15%. |
