 This relatively unknown winery in the Medoc region of Bordeaux has 52 hectares (128 acres) and produces over 350,000 bottles a year. The winery is run by Georges Dadda and his wife. The original property was mentioned in a Rabelais novel and it's origins go back before the French revolution. It was named in the "Bordeaux and It's Wines Guide" of 1850. Dadda uses one word to describe his wines and that is Elegance. The grape varieties planted here are 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. These approximate numbers are used in their red wine. The grapes for this wine are fermented in stainless steel tanks and following that the resulting wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Not only did it receive a nice score from the Wine Advocate but it also received a gold medal at the Concours de Bordeaux 2012. |
