 Caymus Vineyards was founded in 1972 by Charles Wagner, his wife Lorna Belle Glos Wagner, and their son Charles J. (Chuck) Wagner on the family's farm in the Napa Valley town of Rutherford. Both Charles and Lorna come from families with ties to the wine industry but they decided to get directly involved in winemaking. Chuck Wagner has been in charge of the winery ever since his father passed away in 2002. This winery has always been known for it's rich, lush Cabernet Sauvignon. Most of their grapes come from their own 65 acre property. In order to make their famous wine, the winery uses grapes from vines that the Wagners planted more than 40 years ago. These vines are the key to the success of the winery, and one of the reasons that the winery keeps earning so many awards and recognitions. |
