 In 2007 Ruffino celebrated its 130th anniversary as one of the leading Chianti wineries. Ruffino's production philosophy is based on two leading concepts: The quality of its wines and the expression of the territories where these wines are produced - a winemaking art which Ruffino has refined through the decades. With the desire to bring the best quality the Tuscan territory has to offer to wine lovers all over the world, Ruffino has contributed significantly to the creation of the fine image which Italian winemaking holds on the international wine scene today. Chianti Ruffino, followed by Riserva Ducale, was one of the very first wines to cross the Italian border and introduce Italian wine to the world. On the label of Modus, today's feature, the rose of the winds is intertwined with the elements which form the soul of a great wine: the vine, the sun, the soil, the life, the time, the fruit, the manner and the wine. In this special wine the Sangiovese from the Chianti hills encounters two international grape varieties which have found a new home in Tuscany, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Modus was first produced in 1997 from grapes selected in the vineyards of the Tuscan Estates of Ruffino. The style of Modus reflects the marvellous complexity of the beautiful Tuscan territory. The success this wine has encountered in its short lifetime makes it a noble representative of the values which have made Tuscany one of the most cherished areas of the world - for its wines - for its culture - for its people.
