 Callabriga highlights the diverse wine growing regions of Portugal by making wines from each region. Callabriga Wines are predominantly made from the grape Tinta Roriz (a.k.a Tempranillo), a grape that is common to the Douro, Dao and Alentejo regions, but gives wines a very different character in each terroir. The careful blending with varietals more unique to each region creates wines that reflect the unique climate and tradition of that region with a unifying varietal. By retaining these traditional varietals and allying them to the latest thinking in vine growing and winemaking techniques, Callabriga offers modern, well-made wines that are genuinely different from those of any other country. Today's feature is their wine from the Dao region. The climate there is tempered by surrounding mountains. The wines are bright, lively and elegant in their youth without sacrificing their unique character and delicate balance. This wine is made of three varietals: Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro Preto.
