"This has earthy aromas of leather, spice, anise, raisin and prune. The wine is full and tannic with mushroom and black pepper flavors. Very nice and will be even better in 2-3 years."
Debbie Nelson - Wine Manager

Paolo Conterno
Typical garnet red. Bouquet packed with floral and fruity aromas. Elegant, robust body, nicely soft on the finish; showing hints of cherries and wild berries.

Pairings: Red meats and game. Sirloin steak, roast kid, mature hard cheeses.

Wine Spectator

Cherry and raspberry fruit are augmented by licorice and tobacco notes in this supple, yet firmly structured, red. This is balanced and lingers with floral and mineral accents. Very long and stretched taut. Best from 2014 through 2028.

Score: 94. —Bruce Sanderson, April 30, 2012.

Wine Advocate

The 2007 Barolo Riva del Bric is an attractive wine. It possesses less fruit and mid-palate pliancy than the Ginestra, but makes up for that, to some extent, with its focus and minerality. This translucent, mid-weight Barolo is best enjoyed over the next few years as it doesn’t appear to have the stuffing to support extended cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017.

Score: 91. —Antonio Galloni, October 2011.
