Allegrini
Amarone, the exclusive symbol of Valpolicella Classica, is a highly structured, complex, elegant and velvety wine.
It has an intense ruby red colour and a warm, spicy bouquet reminiscent of raisined fruit. Ageing potential 18-20 years. Ideal with game, char-grilled and braised meats and fully matured cheeses. Due to the lingering aroma of raisined grapes, it can be paired with the fascinating delights of Asian an Middle-Eastern cuisine and their unmistakable spicy and sweet-sour flavour combination.
Wine Spectator
The 2005 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a big, fat, super-ripe wine boasting tons of richness in its dark fruit, spices and chocolate. Despite its concentration, this medium-bodied Amarone remains the product of an average harvest and the wine's modest structure can't quite measure up to the 100% new French oak. As always, Allegrini makes one of the more accessible Amarones readers are likely to encounter. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020.

Wine Enthusiast
There's a touch of apple skin or citrus freshness here that gives this wine a bright, polished feel overall. In the mouth, however, this hearty Amarone delivers excellent structure, staying power and long-lasting red fruit flavors.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
