Exclusively-owned site directly by the river. Ancient rock with clay slate bedrock, covered by a layer of loess loam. With a perfect micro- climate for great noble sweet Riesling wines. Fermented and matured in stainless steel vats. A Riesling with spicy ripeness, intense fruit, very complex with wonderful balance between ripe fruit sweetness and classy acidity.
Wine Advocate
High-toned, distillate-like herbal extracts along with ripe fresh strawberry, apple and quince inform the scintillating nose and electrical charged palate of Donnhoff's 2011 Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Spatlese. "We were able to just keep waiting on this site," he explains, "so that even this lightest wine from the Brucke was picked only in the last days of (regular) harvest." Hints of pits and seed, along with black tea, nut oils, zesty citrus, and myriad mineral impingements add to a sense of quickening that goes well beyond mere invigoration in this gem's strikingly persistent, shimmeringly vibrant finish. I was left with salivary glands palpitating and arms covered in gooseflesh. It will probably be hard to resist such a wine at any point over the next quarter century, but those with the requisite remaining life expectancy should make an effort to defer for the duration the pleasure of at least the last bottle or two.

Wine Spectator
Fruity and expressive, with a lush spiciness to the ripe apple and baked peach flavors. Intense glazed apricot and jellied citrus notes linger on the juicy, sumptuous finish. Drink now through 2035. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 56 cases imported.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
