Louis Jadot

Louis Jadot produces a wine of great distinction, with a powerful yet refined perfume of violets and red berries and a finely balanced, fruit richness on the palate. The subtle tannins carry into a prolonged finish. It will perfectly match with delicate dishes not too spicy (red meat in sauce, cheeses).

Burghound

A wonderfully elegant and gorgeously pure nose of earthy red berry fruit, spice and a hint of game gives way to rich, full and powerful flavors that are textured, intense, minerally and well muscled while culminating in a focused, detailed and driving finish. This won't go down as the greatest of Jadot Bonnes Mares but it's indisputably an impressive effort, particularly in the context of the vintage. It will also offer the benefit of a vintage that will be approachable in 10 to 12 years, which is precocious by the standards of this wine. Drink: 2017+

Score: 93. —Allen Meadows, April 18, 2010.

Wine Spectator

Offers very pure, delineated cherry, raspberry and floral flavors, with a well-integrated structure, supple texture and a lingering aftertaste of mineral. Everything is there, and this should develop soon. Best from 2013 through 2025. 30 cases imported.

Score: 93. —Bruce Sanderson, June 15, 2011.

Wine Advocate

Sourced from only the former Clair vineyards on the Morey side rather than incorporating fruit from the Chambolle side (which has now reverted to Bruno Clair), Jadot's 2007 Bonnes Mares delivers the intensity of black raspberry one is tempted to call "brambly" and that involves a vivid impression of biting down on the seeds of red raspberry and inhaling the scents of underbrush. Notes of sage, vanilla, tamarind, and licorice add pungent complexity to a well-concentrated and finely-tannic palate, and this finishes with lingering sweetness, scintillating interplay, and a foundation of damp stone and forest floor. I suspect there will be considerable reward from following it over the next dozen or more years.

Score: 92. —David Schildknecht, June 2010.
