Louis Jadot

A superb balance of power and elegance, this great grand cru allies intense, velvety dark stone fruit flavors to complex notes of spice, earth and oak which repeat the bouquet, supported by firm, lingering tannins.

Burghound

An intensely spicy red berry fruit nose is expressive to the point of exuberance while introducing the hugely rich, full, intense and broad-shouldered flavors that possess real energy and drive on the sappy, mouth coating and stunningly long full-bodied flavors that display outstanding depth. There is a serious amount of dry extract that makes this appear less structured than it is in reality. A most impressive effort that is less mineral-driven but a bit tighter than the Chambertin, at least at this early stage. Score Range 92-94. Drink: 2017+

Score: 94. —Allen Meadows, April 01, 2009.

Wine Spectator

A dense, concentrated style, packed with black cherry, black currant and licorice flavors. So dense, it's almost chewy, with a sweet essence and a long, spice-tinged finish. Massive for the vintage, this will need time to strut its stuff. Best from 2014 through 2030. 15 cases imported.

Score: 94. —Bruce Sanderson, 2010.

Wine Advocate

Rose, iris, black tea, humus, cinnamon, black raspberry, and suggestions of red meat complexly scent the Jadot 2007 Chambertin Clos de Beze, following on a firm slightly chewy but satisfyingly buffered and positively dense palate. Ripe raspberry and plum as well as brown spices emphasize the sweet side of the wine's personality as it launches into a long finish. Unlike the corresponding Chambertin, here I suspect that the tannins will remain supportive while fading even further into the fabric of a wine that combines the ripeness and generosity inherent in the best 2007s with an unusual degree of mouthwatering, soy-like savor as well as the structure and energy to support 12-15 years of aging if one chooses.

Score: 92. —David Schildknecht, June 2010.
