Every year, the Napa Valley Vintners Association hosts Premiere Napa Valley, a barrel tasting and wine auction where participating vintners offer wines produced exclusively for this program. Only a few cases of each one-of-a-kind wine are made from a special blend, clone or vineyard designation chosen by the vintner. Each is produced just once and is available only to the highest bidder. The Summers Estate Wines family makes their home and work in Calistoga, running this small family-style winery. Our lifestyle is about enjoying life: living in a small town and being involved in community activities, growing grapes and making premium quality wine,and relaxing when the opportunity presents itself. Favorite times are spent visiting with family and friends, playing bocce ball and dining al fresco among the vineyards.
Summers Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on our Estate Villa Andriana vineyard grown in deep loamy, volcanic soils. This vintage represents true Cabernet Sauvignon character, the soil it grew in and our best winemaking goals and procedures. The PNV 5 Case Lot #166 was produced from the best barrel out of the 500 barrels made of the 2005 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon vintage and was aged in French oak barrels for 21 months resulting in medium to dark ruby colored wine and sweet French vanilla notes. Summers vineyard management and wine styles are realized in this signature Cabernet Sauvignon exhibiting rich black cherry and cassis flavors to the wonderful mid-palate, excellent texture and tannic structure.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

Wines that are still in the barrel and have yet to be bottled. Futures offer the opportunity to invest in a wine before it arrives in our store.
