The 2005 aroma and flavor description that Jay Miller alludes to in his review below: "Deep purple in color, it offers up an enticing nose of cinnamon, clove, vanilla, tobacco, violets, black currant, and blackberry. This is followed by a spicy, intense, elegant red that over-delivers in a big way."
No 2006 was made of this cuvee but the 2007 Aljibes Tinto is made up of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 25% Cabernet Franc with the same elevage as the 2005. It exhibits a similar aromatic and flavor profile to its older sibling but appears to be a bit fresher due to its relative youth. It is also an outstanding value for drinking from 2012 to 2022.
