"A nice harmonious nose of white flowers, hazelnut and subtle minerality. The palate displays beautiful flavors of white peaches, honey and spice with a hint of beeswax and lemon. The finish is creamy and elegant. Don't pass this up if you love Montrachet. A true winner at a great price." Ultimate Wine Shop
The estate's Puligny-Montrachet is situated in part on Puligny and the rest on the "Hameau de Blagny." The vineyards benefit from an eastern and a southern exposure. The vines here keep sunlight from dawn until twilight. The soil is full of clay, limestone and stone.
Markedly different from the Meursault wines of the Gaunous family, these wines have a terroir yielding floral and fruity notes. The nose is full of aromas of citrus fruits and exotic fruits. In the mouth the acidity is light with discernible sweetness. This too is ageworthy as the Gaunoux Puligny-Montrachet can keep for 15 or more years.
