Domaine J.A. Ferret was founded in 1850 and passed through a female line of succession that had the nous to bottle themselves, long before the practice became common. Beaune-based Louis Jadot acquired Ferret in 2008 following the passing of Colette Ferret without heir. Audrey Braccini is the present winemaker and she is doing an excellent job because some of these wines are equal to Jadot-s Premier and even Grand Crus.
A healthy dose of oak lends vanilla, clove and toast notes to this version, with a core of lemon. This is juicy, developing good equilibrium as the oak is absorbed. Fine length. Drink now through 2018. 75 cases imported.
