The 2009 Rock Cairn Cabernet Sauvignon is consistent from year to year with its beautiful combination of fruit, earth and cedar. This wine opens with black cherry flavors, briary and black tea notes, and an earthiness-characteristics that have always defined this vineyard. A slightly higher percentage of toasty French oak pairs nicely with the fruit and adds roundness and spice, giving the wine a supple mouthfeel. The firm, yet supple, tannins of the vintage give depth and richness that hints of its ability to improve and develop over a long period.
