"Hints of fresh apple and tropical fruit intertwine on the nose of this pale yellow Albarino. And upon sipping, the apple flavors are upfront and crisp before tumbling into a lemon zingy-ness that's sharp, but not too angular. Finishes slightly creamy and long. "

To achieve long lived white wines with character without the use of oak or malo-lactic fermentation a strict regime is required. Once the grapes have been picked, they are de-stemmed. This is followed by a quick settling of the juice and a short maceration in the pneumatic press. The juice is then fermented in medium-sized stainless steel vats with double cooling jackets for temperature control.
Pazo de Senorans, one of the leading producers of Albarino, is very consistent from year to year regardless of vintage conditions. The 2011 Albarino (100% Albarino aged 4 months in stainless steel) reveals notes of honeysuckle, white peach, apricot and white currants in its medium-bodied, elegant, aromatic, fresh personality. This beauty should drink nicely for several years.
