he Reserve 2007 is a very intense yet refined wine. Extremely aromatic and concentrated, it manages to hold immense freshness which makes it appear very elegant and delicate. Firm tannins are well present enveloping sweet, seductive, ripe black cherry fruits. The wine is showing very well now despite an enormous potential for ageing.
Displays an intensely spicy aroma, with fresh, powerful flavors of red berries, plum and sage. Offers medium-grained tannins, with a firm midpalate of stone and iron, as well as baker's chocolate on the finish. Needs time. Best from 2011 through 2016.
The 2007 RESERVA is principally a blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cao and Touriga Franca, aged in French oak. At the moment, it is too marked by oak, but this promises to be a very fine La Rosa Reserve, pointed, powerful, sunny, ageworthy and delicious. It does need some time to come together in the cellar, and given that I had it open for several hours, it proved that it will. Despite the lush, oak-driven opening, it has some character, showing some game and complexity, too. For all the power and oak, its mid-palate is rather elegant and graceful. I think this is going to be a beauty when it knits together. Drink now-2023.
