"This is a stunner. Mencia is the grape here. It is thought to be a relative of Cabernet Franc and the pepper note in this wine really supports that. It shows red berry fruits, a whopping pepper note, medium soft tannins and a medium finish. It would be very interesting to try different food pairings with this as it would compliment a great number of foods."
Ultimate Wine Shop
The 2008 Lagar de Robla Premium Mencia spent 18 months in American oak. It is the most complex of these Mencia offerings displaying density, opulence, and length. This pleasure-bent effort can be enjoyed now but will drink well for a decade.
